There is something curious about how many watches are created today. The product comes first, and only later a story is built around it.
With Harding, the process feels reversed.
For us at Horotix, the first contact with this project was not a press release, but a conversation. And from the very beginning, it was clear this wasn’t just another microbrand.
As Amiel explained:
“What struck me was that the stories and the purpose often felt like they came after the design.”
Harding starts from a different place.
Not from the watch.
But from an idea.
A lifestyle, not a demographic.
“A Harding person isn’t tied to a specific type of person or demographic. It’s tied to a way of life.”
The AQUA-PRO is the first tangible expression of that idea. A diver born from real experiences, from time spent in and around water.
Technically, it remains grounded. Powered by the Miyota 8215, built to be reliable, wearable, real.
“The Miyota 8215 is proven, robust, and commercially trusted for good reason.”
But beyond specifications, what defines it is the feeling it tries to capture.
“We couldn’t photograph it… so instead of chasing a perfect image, we chased the feeling.”
The watch is not the final point.
“The watch is only half of what Harding is.”
The other half is the community.
“Not as a marketing exercise, but as a genuine part of the process.”
This vision is also reflected in how the project will launch. The AQUA-PRO will debut through a Kickstarter campaign in mid-May, inviting the community to become part of the project from the very beginning.
Not just funding a watch.
But building something around it.
Over time, Harding aims to expand with Swiss-powered models featuring movements such as the ETA 2824 or ETA 7001, while maintaining its core philosophy: accessibility with meaning.
Because in the end, the question is not whether the AQUA-PRO is perfect.
But whether it represents something more.
